      — How strange that must’ve sounded to her. To almost meet his end and then turn around and say he wanted to help her. If Komaeda were any normal person he would’ve ran for the hills next chance he got.

However, he wasn’t any ol’ normal person. Just as strange as they come, perhaps even more so, too.

His prediction was correct and Komaeda responded with a light chuckle, maybe a tad awkward. “Yes, I understand what you mean. This may not be the wisest choice I’ve ever made, but…” Cue a shrug. “I don’t think I should run away.”

                       ”You don’t seem that bad.”

Hungry? Most likely. Considering how his suspicions were confirmed when she backed off him and his blood due to his disease. Lonely? … another possibility. Her behavior suggested as much during their encounter. The way she paused when he mentioned Hinata-kun and even let up on him. No, Komaeda wasn’t going to make a run for it. Even if he did, he wouldn’t get far. Running wasn’t his strong suit.

Komaeda shifted a little closer to her, still making sure to keep some sort of distance between them. “I’m Komaeda Nagito. You are?”

          || { † } Perplexed. The word to describe Homura as she listened to his light musings, casual and nonchalant as if she didn't just threaten his end. Even if she wasn’t after his blood, she could have just killed him as easily as snapping a twig for the sole purpose of getting rid of him. It was just that simple and yet…this boy seemed to overlook the obvious danger.

Unwise, yes. Homura surveyed Komaeda up and down, taking in the ivory of his disarrayed hair, the marks of dirt patched in between folds of dishevelled clothing. She could only read him to an extent, due to his unpredictable nature. It bothered her.

❝ – ’Not bad’? Hah. Do not try to flatter a villain. ‘Bad’ is what I am, 'bad’ is all I’ll ever be. If you need some proof of that, remember that I possess more than enough power to end your life early just for the fun of it. ❞

Was she going to it, though? Likely not. She wasn’t that type of person. The boy didn’t need to know that, but if he was as insightful as she thought he was then he probably could tell that already.

Acquainting with his almost-killer, what a fool. But even so…

                                                     ❝ … Akemi Homura.
I wonder how you’ll manage to carry out that
                                                                 offer of yours, Komaeda Nagito.❞
