Intentful (+Hitomi)

           || { † } There wasn’t much noise upstairs in the time she had left, which was a promising sign that her ‘guest’ hadn’t recalled anything in her absence. Nothing had roused a memory, which was…good. As Homura brushed cautious fingers over Hitomi’s phone, she pondered over the thought of whether it was really such a good idea to return it so soon. For all she knew, Hitomi could be bluffing about her memory loss- though it was admittedly highly unlikely. Giving a mental shrug, she took it and placed it in her shirt pocket anyway.

The vampire’s calculating process whirred like cogs in her brain as she prepared the tea. This was a timeline that was going quite smoothly so far; she didn’t want to ruin it by making the wrong move as a consequence of her careless, sentimental actions. If it weren’t for Hitomi losing her memory, the timeline would have been already over due to Homura and the unprecedented return of her humanity.

Even thinking about the incident caused her own blood to boil – perhaps enough to heat the tea by its own. As the water was heated to steaming and the tea was poured, Homura listened out upstairs for any more suspicious movement. Besides the occasional shifting, it was still rather quiet. A fleeting, bizarre thought: perhaps Hitomi unlocked the window somehow and ran for it? Sighing and dismissing that, Homura made her way to the stairs, careful with the tray of  tea and cookies warming cold hands.

Just as she was nearing the door, she heard a slightly sharp movement from within the room. It probably wasn’t as obvious as she perceived it, but her heightened senses definitely picked something up, feeding her curiosity as well as her suspicion. Stepping in from behind the barrier, Homura observed Hitomi in a rather unwonted position, part of her shape concealed by wrinkled sheets. The vampire, in a minuscule reaction, twitched with wariness. Could the girl be hiding something? Again, unlikely, but nevertheless whatever it was, it had roused Homura’s hesitation.

The raven-haired set the tray on a side-table, handing the cup of tea gently into Hitomi’s grasp. As if sending vague symbols across the room, Homura pulled up a chair almost in front of the door and perched onto it, folding her arms over.

❝ …Very well. Call your parents if you must, but…
I’d rather not let anyone else get involved.
                    – Personal preference.
It would simply be a hassle should anyone
do so. Just tell your parents where you are
and where to pick you up from. ❞

Homura sighed inwardly, retrieving Hitomi’s phone from her pocket and sliding it over the table. If she really must… Purple eyes flickered to the plate of cookies, porcelain laden with a generous amount. She wanted to make it seem as if she ate too, of course.

❝ Please, feel free to eat something. I would be
concerned if you left this house without any
nourishment. That injury of yours looked
as if it would…disorientate you for a good time,
at least consumption would bring yourself
                  back around… ❞

The vampire wanted her to eat something. If Hitomi could take a bite and suddenly remember everything, she’d rather that be done here before her parents were notified instead of elsewhere. Homura also wanted to test whether food or drink would bring the memories back sooner than later. She made frequent eye contact with the tea and snacks to try and wordlessly communicate that over.
